Artist's Comments

I finally managed to finish my tutorial on detailing / creating complex pictures. Have fun!

Constructive criticism is very welcome...

The complete example picture can be found here: [link]

UPDATE: had to cut the size to 12000 pixels height, since dA doesn't allow any pictures larger than that... doesn't work too good with the layout, but there's nothing I can do about it...

It's always good to see new work from you. And it's even more fun to see how you work

Well, not really helpful, not to me anyway. I couldn't draw to save my life, let alone do those epic works you seem to shake from your sleeve. To me, it's mostly fun to see how you work and how you get to those works and what kind of processes happen in the middle. That being said, I don't doubt it's extremely helpful to people who can draw and plan on something big. Or perhaps it's also helpful to realise that every work of art comes in steps and stages and nobody can just wish a great work of art into being :D

I didn't concern this the basic thought behind this tutorial, but you're definitely right, every piece I create takes a lot of time and doesn't just appear by the idea itself... Anyway, I'd highly recommend to try drawing yourself, since it can be really satisfying to draw the last lines of a picture.

Thanks a lot for the deep comment and merry christmas :)

Hehe yeah, merry Christmas to you too. Perhaps I should make more drawing and more stumbling into new artistic things a new year's resolution. :D

I hope it's not too much text... thanks for the fave!

You are really welcome! I think I owe the dA-community a lot concerning the development of my style and the artistic level I have right now. I had a lot of impressive experiences concerning constructive criticism and familiar things in the forums and on the comment pages.
